Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) keeper-batter, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, is sitting out for their clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Keep reading to find out why Rahmanullah Gurbaz is not in RCB’s playing XI today.
KKR wicketkeeper batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been dropped from their match against SRH on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Although it is unknown, the most likely reason for his omission is that KKR wanted to try some new combinations. He has been replaced with South Africa’s Quinton de Kock.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane said during the toss, “Was looking to bowl first either way. The teams that chased in the last two games won at this venue, and they chased things down quite easily. Playing after 18 days feels like a challenge, but just trying to focus in the practice session. We know everyone is going home after this game, so we are just trying to play to win and play to entertain.”
KKR secured Gurbaz for INR 2 crore in the 2025 mega auction. The Afghanistan player has only appeared in five matches this season in the Indian Premier League. In the five matches that he played, he managed to score 74 runs with an average of 18.50.
Although SRH are already out of the playoff race, they’ll be aiming to finish their season with a win.
