Riyan Parag’s Old Tweet Resurfaces After His Six-Sixes Carnage in IPL 2025

Riyan Parag’s old tweet about hitting 4 sixes resurfaced after his 6 sixes spectacle against KKR on Sunday.

Kolkata Knight Riders were successful in keeping their chances alive for making it into the playoffs with an action-packed victory over Rajasthan Royals. Opting to bat, KKR put on a total of 206/4 on the scoreboard. Andre Russell regained his form and scored 57 runs off 25 deliveries.

RR nearly got this win, but KKR clinched this victory, winning by just one run. The biggest star of the night was RR’s captain Riyan Parag, who slammed 95 runs off 45 balls.

Parag’s Manifestation Comes True

In 2023, Parag tweeted, “My inner conscience says I’m hitting 4 sixes in an over at some point this IPL.”

During his incredible knock of 95, Parag hit 6 back-to-back sixes. In the 13th over of RR’s chase, Parag hit 5 consecutive sixes off Moeen Ali. In the very next over, he hit another six on the next ball he faced from Varun Chakravarthy, completing his six sixes.

This moment became special for Parag as 2 years ago, he shared a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), where he manifested hitting four sixes in an over. Two years later, he achieved what he manifested and more.

Parag Comments

“I was planning to stay till the last 2 overs, but unfortunately I got out in the 18th over. It was a miscalculation from my side. I think we could have found better options in the last 6 overs. Maybe other bowling options. No one to complain but ourselves, we should have finished it. We could have done something else in hindsight,” said Parag during the post-match presentation.

“He (Russell) was 2 off 10 balls and the way he accelerated after that, it was great to watch. It’s a ground where sixes are hit. The wicket was a little tricky, so I had to pick my battles. I think I did it pretty well, until the time I got out. I have been telling that to myself, feels off to give an interview (as the losing captain). We weren’t clinical on the field and the consequences are here,” he added.
