In a groundbreaking move for cricket and gender equality, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has appointed Catherine Dalton as its first-ever female fast-bowling coach. This historic appointment paves the way for a more inclusive future in the world of cricket coaching.

Her coaching journey has taken her across borders, including stints at the National Fast Bowling Academy in the UK and the Ultimate Pace Foundation in India. Now, she is set to make her mark in the PSL with Multan Sultans.
Multan Sultans proudly shared the news of Dalton’s appointment on social media. “Having coached MS Academy players to greatness, Catherine steps up to become PSL’s first-ever female coach,” they announced on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Dalton, who has also contributed to women’s county cricket for Middlesex and Essex, expressed her honour at joining Multan Sultans and becoming the first female fast-bowling coach in the PSL. Her appointment is a significant step forward for women in sports, shattering stereotypes and highlighting the importance of skill and expertise over gender.
Hijab Zahid, the General Manager of the Sultans, expressed the team’s excitement about having Catherine Dalton on board. “The Multan Sultans are delighted to have Catherine on board. We’re looking forward to her stewardship of the Sultan’s pace battery,” she stated.
