Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson has revealed a sneak peek of a special jersey that Team India is expected to wear during their felicitation ceremony and open-top bus parade in Mumbai. The Rajasthan Royals captain posted a photo of the uniquely designed blue jersey from their hotel in New Delhi.
The T20 World Cup champions returned home on Thursday aboard a chartered plane. Thousands of fans gathered at New Delhi airport to welcome Rohit Sharma and his team. The celebratory atmosphere continued as the team displayed the trophy to fans at the airport before arriving at the ITC Maurya hotel in New Delhi.
Sanju Samson shared an image of the special Team India jersey, which features a second star above the BCCI logo, symbolizing their second T20 World Cup title. The word “champions” is prominently printed on the front of the jersey. The team is expected to wear this special jersey during their parade and ceremony in Mumbai.
The victorious 15-member squad, along with the Rahul Dravid-led support staff, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi before heading to Mumbai for a grand felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium. Rohit Sharma and his teammates will also participate in an open-top bus victory parade along Marine Drive.
Rohit Sharma emerged from the airport holding the T20 World Cup trophy, greeted by chants of Virat Kohli‘s name and enthusiastic fans. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav danced to the beat of dhols outside the team hotel, where a special cake-cutting ceremony was arranged.
