Rajasthan Royals are going through a tough time in IPL 2025. With a four-game losing streak, the loss of their captain is going to further aggravate the problems. Sanju Samson is set to miss the RCB fixture.

Rajasthan Royals statement

The Rajasthan Royals management issued a statement on Monday about their captain, Sanju Samson. Samson is out due to an injury sustained in his ribs.

In a fresh statement, RR have revealed that Samson won’t travel to Bengaluru for the match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He will remain at the team’s home base with some medical staff members as he recovers from his injury.

“Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson is currently undergoing recovery and will remain at the team’s home base with select RR medical staff. As part of his ongoing rehab process, he will not be travelling to Bangalore for the upcoming match against RCB. The team management is monitoring his progress closely and will take a game-by-game approach regarding his return to action,” the statement said.

Sanju Samson’s injury

Samson suffered a major blow to his ribcage in the match against the Delhi Capitals. Batting against DC’s Vipraj Nigam, Samson tried to play a pull shot. However, he missed the ball and got hit in his abdominal area. He play another delivery, but had to retire hurt due to the pain. He was escorted out by the physio who was attending to him.

Samson had to undergo scans last week. After the scan, he was ruled out of the match.
