Mark Wood flaunts his Lucknow accent, LSG share video

Ahead of England pacer Mark Wood‘s return to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) squad for their match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 28, the LSG Twitter handle shared a video of Wood showcasing his impressive Lucknowi accent. In the video, Wood is seen speaking with a touch of Lucknow flavor, with his use of phrases such as ‘Mohtarma’ and ‘Kisko Yaha se’ being particularly noteworthy.

All set for a comeback

Wood, who had missed LSG’s previous two games due to illness, seems to have made a full recovery and is looking forward to taking the field against PBKS. The video shared by LSG’s Twitter handle not only highlights Wood’s sense of humor and fun-loving nature but also showcases his willingness to immerse himself in local culture and connect with the team’s fanbase.

After suffering a defeat in their last game against GT, the KL Rahul-led LSG team will be eager to bounce back and secure a victory against PBKS. In a bid to strengthen their playing XI, the team is reportedly considering bringing Mark Wood back into the squad for the upcoming match, with the pacer likely to replace Naveen-ul-Haq.

May leave later

Although Naveen bowled well in the previous game, LSG’s upcoming opponents have several strong batsmen, including Shikhar Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, and Matt Short, making Wood’s experience and skillset a requisite for the game.

Despite his potential inclusion in the Lucknow Super Giants squad for the upcoming match, there are reports that Wood may miss the later stages of the IPL 2023 season. The reason for this is that the English cricketer is expected to fly back home to be present for the birth of his first child. It remains to be seen whether Wood’s return to the LSG squad will make a significant impact on the team’s performance, but his enthusiasm and commitment to the team’s cause are sure to make him a valuable asset both on and off the field.
