Ahead of the start of the IPL 2025 final, the Narendra Modi Stadium saw a flurry of crowds trying to enter the stadium. The historic final has sent fans into a frenzy of excitement.
The Indian Premier League 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings is being played in Ahmedabad. Today’s final will go down in history with a maiden title win, as neither team has won the IPL before, despite coming close.
Hours before the thrilling final between RCB and PBKS began, heavy rainfall hit Ahmedabad. The rain sent the fans running to find cover near the stadium. However, large crowds gathered outside the stadium despite the heavy rain. Showing their dedication, the fans stood there hoping the weather to clear in time for the match.
Many fans of cricket and the Indian Premier League travelled from different cities to watch the final live. This shows the craze and passion people have for the league and cricket stars.
The live visuals also showed huge RCB fan crowds taking over the stadium. A red sea of support outside the stadium reflected the loyalty of the RCB fans.
On top of this, the crowd went up in loud cheers and applause as Virat Kohli started to enter the ground. As the RCB legend stepped out for pre-match activities, the fans erupted in roaring cheers.
Fans drowned the stadium with chants of “Kohli! Kohli!”, even limiting the stadium announcers’ voices. A massive number of audience members were seen waving RCB flags at the world’s largest stadium.
The IPL 2025 final will see a new champion as neither RCB nor PBKS have won in the final before. RCB last played in the final in 2016, losing to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. While PBKS lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2014 final.
The Rajat Patidar-led and Shreyas Iyer-led sides stepped into the field intending to clinch the 2025 IPL trophy.
