In a decisive move, Indian sports streaming platform Fancode stopped the live broadcast of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 following the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir. This decision mirrors the nation’s rising anger and the government’s strong diplomatic stance.
Terrorists opened fire on a group of Indian tourists at Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam on Tuesday. The assault killed 26 people and injured several others. Security forces described it as the deadliest attack since the Pulwama bombing in 2019.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally in Bihar, sent a clear message to the attackers and their backers.
“This attack was not on tourists — enemies have tried to attack the soul of India,” he said.
“India will identify and punish the terrorists. Terrorism will not go unpunished. Every effort will be made to ensure that justice is done. We will pursue them to the ends of the earth. The time to bury such forces has come.”
His speech drew support from across the country and reinforced the government’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.
Fancode became the first Indian company to respond directly to the incident. By halting PSL 2025 coverage, the platform echoed the growing public demand for firm actions against cross-border terrorism. The decision also signals private sector alignment with the government’s national security priorities.
Before the suspension, Fancode streamed PSL matches live and offered match highlights, expert analysis, and fantasy cricket features to Indian fans.
The attack and India’s subsequent reaction have triggered renewed tension between the two countries. Diplomats expect further cultural, sporting, and business cutoffs as India pushes for global accountability.
The move to suspend PSL streaming isn’t just a business decision. It symbolizes a collective stand by India—against terror and for justice. In the coming weeks, more companies and institutions may take similar steps, further isolating those responsible for the attack.
India’s message is clear: justice will prevail, and those behind terror acts will face consequences.
