T20 World Cup 2020

The 2021 T20 World Cup, the seventh installment of the competition, concluded after a captivating month of cricket action. Originally planned for Australia from October 18 to November 15, 2020, the event was rescheduled and moved to India due to pandemic-related challenges. Eventually, due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, the tournament found its home in the United Arab Emirates and Oman, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) retaining its role as the official hosts. Held in Dubai, this edition showcased 16 teams vying for the coveted silver trophy, elevating the tournament's thrill and prestige. The event kicked off with Round 1 group stage matches to determine the four qualifying teams. These teams then joined eight pre-qualified squads in the Super 12s stage. Following the Super 12s, the competition moved to the knockout phase, featuring the semi-finals and the final. After that, the eight teams were Sri Lanka, Namibia, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland Bangladesh, Oman, and Papua New Guinea divided into 2 groups (each containing 4 teams). The top two from both groups had joined the rest 8 teams for the super-12 stage. At the Super-12 stage, all 12 teams were divided into 2 groups ( each containing 6 teams) and the top 2 from both groups reached the knockout stage.
