Indian cricket dressing room anecdotes have always fascinated fans. Those have become parts of cricket folklore in India. Fans always like to know about the real characters of their cricket heroes. Interviews are one of those mediums that help a lot know about the off-field stories. In one such interaction, Dinesh Karthik recalled a fun incident relating former skipper Sourav Ganguly.

When Sourav yelled at Dinesh

The wicket-keeper batsman narrated the incident of his first meeting with Sourav Ganguly in 2004. In a talk show, he revealed, “I was a substitute in that game and I had to carry drinks to the players. I was running towards the players to give them drinks and accidentally, I slipped and fell on Dada. He got frustrated and yelled, “Where do you get these players from, who is he?”

The episode aired long back but was recently shared by Oaktree Sports, the creator of Breakfast with Champions. The Oaktree Sports wrote, “Throwback to our Champion recalling this hilarious moment on the field!#ThrowbackThursday #DineshKarthik #SouravGanguly #RohitSharma #Cricket @DineshKarthik @gauravkapur”. The video got viral when Yuvraj Singh echoed the same. Singh was also a part of the team back then and wrote about it on Twitter. He said, “dada exact words! Kaun hai re ye pagal ! kahan se pakad ke Latien hai in the middle of India vs Pak tense game! @DineshKarthik your hilarious @ImRo45.”

Dinesh eying Vijay Hazare Trophy

It was a match between India and Pakistan and the latter went on to win it by three wickets. Dinesh Karthik who was given chance in World Cup 2019 campaign was not recalled after the showpiece event anymore. The selectors have decided to prefer Rishabh Pant as the primary wicket-keeper for India across all the three formats. But with Pant struggling a bit recently the Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper will like to utilize the platform of Vijay Hazare trophy to make a comeback.
