Why Was Hardik Pandya Missing During Pakistan Innings?

Hardik Pandya has been taken to scan after he suffered a neck injury during the match against Pakistan in the Super 12 of T20 World Cup today.

India faced their first defeat against Pakistan in their tournament opener in T20 World Cup. In fact, this was India’s first World Cup defeat against Pakistan in limited-overs. Pakistan played extremely well as a team, controlled the game throughout, and won a convincing match against India. After bowling India out for 151, Pakistan chased down the target by 10 wickets, thanks to their openers Babar Azam (68*) and Mohammad Rizwan (79*).

Earlier in the match, Indian top order had a massive failure. Virat Kohli, the captain tried to put some fight and scored 57 off 49. Rishabh Pant chipped in with 30-ball 39. Hardik Pandya scored 9-ball 11 before being dismissed while aiming for a big shot.

During his batting, he injured his right shoulder and could not take field in the second half. A BCCI release later revealed, “Hardik Pandya was hit on his right shoulder while batting. He has now gone for scans.”
