Pragyan Ojha disclosed that Dhoni did not wish his teammates good luck anymore after the results started dipping. He recalled how Dhoni had used to do the same earlier.
Ojha on Dhoni
Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha told how MS Dhoni stopped wishing teammates good luck after a point. He explained, “MSD will never wish his team members “all the best” or “good luck” before a game. Because he feels, if he wishes somebody quite a few players he has wished during a game, it ended up in a very different way. Maybe that’s why he has stopped it.” Ojha played under the leadership of Dhoni during his playing days.
Speaking to Sports Today, Pragyan Ojha revealed an interesting anecdote about MS Dhoni as well. “Once we had a conversation about people having different kinds of sentiments and that’s when he said he never wishes his players before a game. And before the game, none of the players from the opposition go to him. They don’t want any wishes from him.”
Dhoni on slow batting
Chennai Super Kings started 2021 campaign in a far better note than the 2020 one. They are set play a match today as well against Kolkata Knight Riders. However, as batsman Dhoni hasn’t come into full flow yet. In last match he looked slow while scoring 18 off 17 against Rajasthan Royals. He went on to acknowledge the same in the post-match ceremony as well. In Mumbai, he will be once again batting for Chennai Super Kings against Kolkata Knight Rider. He will be hoping for a good show in the upcoming remaining matches for his side.
“Glad we scored 180, I thought we could have got more. The first six balls I played could have cost us in another game.” Dhoni said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
