When Rohit Sharma interviews Bumrah and Rahane

The hitman Rohit Sharma interviews the pacer Jasprit Bumrah after the latter’s incredible performance in the second innings of the first Test between India and West Indies. He also talks to Ajinkya Rahane to discuss his two brilliant innings.

What Bumrah says

Bumrah ended the second innings with outstanding figures of 5/7 in Antigua. This helped India to wrap up the Windies for just 100 runs to win the match by a massive 318 runs. Following India’s victory, Rohit took an interview of the speedster for BCCI.TV and tried to understand what goes behind his deadly spells. Rohita asked how Bumrah could he ball move away from the batsman which isn’t his natural tendency. He explained, “We generally see you bowling from wide of the crease and make the ball come into the batsman. But today (Monday), the batsmen were getting beaten outside the off-stump. So, have you worked on that or were you just trying to take the help of breeze for movement?”

To this Bumrah replied that his focus is to use out-swingers as much as possible but on match day it was harder because of the breeze. He further informed, “I had use out-swingers a lot in England so that helped my confidence. I was also mixing (deliveries) around a bit to confuse the batsmen.”

What Rahane says

Even Ajinkya Rahane was interviewed alongside Bumrah. He took charge of the first innings of the Indian team when the entire top order failed. Although he missed hundred by 19 runs, his innings was highly acclaimed. Next innings saw him getting his desired hundred after two long years.
Rahane said the second was more satisfying for him as the intention was to take out the team from the crisis. He dedicated the century to those who stood by him for the last couple of years. When Rohit asked how Rahane handles criticism especially during the game, Rahane clearly said, “I try not to get too affected by criticism.”
