The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most prestigious cricket tournaments today. It’s an annual event and last year, one of the two new teams in the league bagged the championship which is Gujarat Titans.
The latest IPL only ended in May this year, but everyone is already looking forward to watching the next season and placing bets on their favorite teams and cricketers.
Since it’s too early for the tournament’s schedule to be released, the best that fans and cricket punters can do is to know the latest happenings on the upcoming event.
IPL 2023 Schedule and Format.
The IPL 2023 will be the 16th edition of the tournament and will still be established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). No official schedule has been released for the 2023 IPL, but the season is expected to start by the end of March 2023.As early as now, some cricket enthusiasts are already preparing their strategies in placing bets on the best IPL betting odds by 10CRIC.
Historically, the IPL is held between April and May, so that’s when we expect the matches will be. The previous format is likely to be similar to the last season with 94 matches. The format will still be a round-robin tournament.
All ten teams will be divided into two groups of five for the group stage, and all of them will be playing 14 matches each.
Last year, the IPL wasn’t able to stick to its usual home and away format because of the two new venues, which are the homes of the two new teams added into the IPL last year (Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants).
However, this year, it’s expected that the home and away format will be back with Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium as the new venue.
2023 IPL Mega Auction
Before the IPL is the auction where the teams will be choosing the players they will retain and the new players they will purchase. No official dates are out yet about when the IPL Auction is but the mid-December IPL 2023 auction is likely going to be on December 16.
This is when the teams are expected to reveal their list of retained and released players
With the success of Gujarat Titan’s wise picks during last year’s auction, many are curious to see if the team will be retaining all of its players. Some are also interested to see if other teams will be able to snatch GT players and add them to their lineups.

The team came so close to getting the championship last year and this experience might have taught the team whom they need to balance the team out.

Chennai Super Kings
CSK was challenged a lot last season and they seemed to have an unstable team.

Mumbai Indians
Sadly, Mumbai Indians ended up at the bottom of the ladder for the first time in history. It was evident that the team needed more from their bowling lineup.

Lucknow Super Giants
Royal Challengers Bangalore eliminated this team last season and they might need new players to improve their chances this year.

Royal Challengers Bangalore
The team’s bowling lineup was pretty solid last season, so they might do something different for mid-orders and batting.

Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals needs to check on what caused the team to not even reach the top four last season. They might seek new players and see how the team could improve.

Punjab Kings
Punjab King’s batting line-up is diverse and it was probably too diverse that consistency was an issue last year.

Kolkata Knight Riders
It’s no secret that this team performed poorly at the auction last year, so they need to keep up on the upcoming auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad
The teams need to strengthen the squad and work on getting the balance between their players.
