The Indian men’s cricket team has been promoted to the Super Eight stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after playing and winning 3 matches in the group stage of the tournament. The team has now continued it’s winning streak with victory in match against Afghanistan. The team’s captain Rohit Sharma has praised Jasprit Bumrah after winning Super 8 match.
India played a match against Afghanistan on 20 June at the Kensington Oval Stadium in Barbados, and managed to win by a significant margin of 47 runs.Team India won the toss and opted to bat first. The men in blue scored 181/8 in the first innings, while Bangladesh got restricted to a score of 134 in the second innings.
Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav became the Player Of The Match after an impressive score of 53 runs off 28 balls with a strike rate of 189.29.

The men in blue have continued their winning streak in the tournament under the leadership of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. After winning the match, Sharma addressed the audience in his post match statement.
“The last two years, we have come here and played some T20 games. We planned a little well. We adapted well to the conditions that were offered. We knew the class of our bowling line up will defend this. Everyone coming in and doing their job. That is something we keep talking about. Surya and Hardik’s partnership was a good one in the end.” Rohit said.
Sharma also gave Indian Pacer Jasprit Bumrah his due credit for being consistent in his efforts and execution for the team. Bumrah has been an asset in this season.
“We know what Bumrah can do for us. It is important for us to use him smartly. He is the one who is ready to take the responsibility as well. Whereever he plays, he is always ready to take the responsibility.” Rohit said.
“I got to assess the conditions. Looking at the opposition we are ready to make any changes. We thought three spinners would be good, we went for that. Going forward if needed, I am open to playing three seamers.” He added.
