The World Cup 2023 final is just one sleep away. After completing the group stage and semifinal stage, the big stage is all set to arrange the World Cup final. Six teams bid goodbye after ending the group stage. Teams like India, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand entered the semifinal stage. South Africa was knocked out after losing the second semifinal against Australia. After that heartbreaking match, Keshav Maharaj made a post about their journey in the tournament. That post came in the limelight.

Keshav Maharaj is a great bowler of South Africa. He has been serving the team for long. In this edition of the World Cup, the bowler performed extremely well. South Africa was one of the favorites of this World Cup. They started the campaign with a bang. Throughout the tournament, they played quality cricket. But they faced a tragic defeat against Australia and went out of the World Cup.

After the exit from the World Cup, South African bowler Keshav Maharaj made a heartfelt post on social media. On his social media handle, he wrote, “ We Fought Till The End . Very Grateful for the opportunity, lessons learnt but most importantly to see the growth within the team despite being knocked out the semifinals. Fight, Characters, Resilience but most notably the unity we showed on the field as a team is symbolic of our South African Nation.  Thank you, Lord Hanumanji, for your strength, guidance, and blessing during this World Cup, Jai Shree Hanuman. Thank you to the fans for all the love, support, and well wishes throughout. India is always a special place.”

South Africa’s Performance in the World Cup:

South Africa started the tournament with a bang. In their first match, they scored the highest-ever World Cup total. They won the match by a huge margin. Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen, and Aiden Markram scored centuries in that match. After that, they defeated Australia by 134 runs. In that inning, Quinton de Kock scored another century. They defeated England by 229 runs. In that match, Heinrich Klaasen scored a magnificent century. They defeated New Zealand by 190 runs.

In the group stage, South Africa met India at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. That match was a nightmare for them. While batting first, India put on a huge total of 326 runs. While chasing the 327-run target, they got all out on just 83 runs. That was shocking. Finally, they ended their World Cup Journey in the semifinal stage after facing a defeat against Australia. That was an emotional World Cup journey for them. Star wicketkeeper batter Quinton de Kock is retiring from the ODI format. He scored so many runs in the World Cup. he ended his ODI career on a high but without a World Cup trophy.
