The Indian men’s cricket team has been promoted to the Super Eight stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after playing and winning 3 matches in the group stage of the tournament. The team has now continued it’s winning streak with victory in match against Afghanistan.
India played a Super 8 match against Afghanistan today at the Kensington Oval Stadium in Barbados, and managed to win by a significant margin.

Did Afghanistan players forget their own strengths?
After losing the match by 47 runs, Afghanistan Captain Rashid Khan addressed the audience at the post match conference. He admitted, that his team believed chasing a score of 180 wouldn’t be a big deal on the pitch.
“That was a surface we thought we could chase 170-180. You just go there and how you play. Against bigger teams, we should be thinking we will have to chase such scores.” Rashid said.
He also added that the Afghanistan team needs to get reminded of their strengths as they move ahead in the game.
“Body is feeling well. I struggled a little in the IPL. I am hitting the areas consistently now. We have enjoyed everywhere we have played. We forget our own skills sometimes. If the conditions are there, we will look to use it.” He added.
The Afghanistan team lost all wickets today with catches by the Indian team, making it to history when all ten batters out caught in an innings in T20 WCs.
