Wadia says, “We (Punjab and Ashwin) should part ways.”

Finally, Ness Wadia also confirms the news of Ravichandran Ashwin’s trading to Delhi Capitals. Yesterday it was revealed by a source that an official announcement would be done within a few days. Wadia echoes the thought.

Wadia confirms parting ways with Ashwin

Ness Wadia, the co-owner of IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab earlier said that there were no such thoughts and rejected all speculations over Ashwin’s removal from Kings XI Punjab. But after the revelation of franchise source, now Ness Wadia also has confirmed the reports. He clearly stated that KXIP and confirmed that KXIP and Ravichandran Ashwin have amicably decided to part ways.

“I know there is a lot of speculation but we are still talking. Ashwin is a very good, versatile player. Any team would love to have him. We are talking to a few different teams (including Delhi) and as soon as we are clear, we will announce it,” Wadia was quoted as saying by PTI.

He further explained how this is the best solution for both parties. “We [Ashwin and KXIP] have amicably come to a conclusion that we should part ways and now we are trying to get the best fit, best solution for everyone. We are talking to a few teams to see where the best fit is and the best value comes for both Ashwin and ourselves. We want the best deal for everyone.”

News to be announced soon

Ashwin was the captain of Kings XI Punjab in the previous two seasons and failed to take it to the playoffs. Now since he will not be part, in all likelihood, KL Rahul will take up the responsibility. Ashwin will now be a part of a new franchise in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. Whereas all reports suggest that he will be moving to the Delhi team, few other teams are also interested in getting the service of the all-rounder. The IPL transfer window closes within a week November 14th. So the announcement of the trade-off is likely to be made pretty soon before that.
