As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season is all set to commence, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) superstar Virat Kohli recently shared an important life lesson with his fans. On Thursday, March 30, Kohli initiated an interesting conversation on social media by sharing his 10th-grade mark sheet. The move was widely appreciated by his fans, who saw it as an inspiration to pursue their dreams, regardless of their academic qualifications.
How much did Virat score?
The 33-year-old batting legend shared a picture of his 10th-class mark sheet, which revealed that he had passed the 10th standard in 2004 from Savior Convent School in Paschim Vihar, Delhi. The mark sheet showed Kohli’s marks in multiple subjects, including English, Hindi, Science and Technology, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Introductory IT(Information Technology).
According to the mark sheet, Kohli scored 83 marks in English, 75 marks in Hindi, 55 marks in Science and Technology, 51 marks in Mathematics, 81 marks in Social Sciences, and 74 marks in Introductory IT. In total, Kohli scored 419 out of 600, or 69.83%, which may not be considered a high percentage by Indian standards.
Despite this, Kohli’s journey from a young boy from Delhi to one of the greatest cricketers in the world has been nothing short of remarkable. While he had to give up his studies after completing the 12th standard due to his passion for cricket, he has always emphasized the importance of education and learning. He has often spoken about how his experiences on and off the field have helped him grow as a person and as a leader.
A hidden message
By sharing his mark sheet, Kohli has highlighted the fact that academic qualifications are not the only measure of success in life. Rather, it is the combination of passion, hard work, and determination that leads to success and fulfillment.
Kohli shared his mark sheet with an inspirational message, “It’s funny how the things that add the least to your mark sheet, add the most to your character. #LetThereBeSport.” This was part of PUMA’s ‘Let There Be Sport’ campaign, which aims to increase awareness among citizens about the importance of sports alongside education and traditional studies.
Kohli’s message resonated with fans and followers, as the picture of his mark sheet quickly went viral on social media. Many people praised him for his emphasis on the value of sports and the character-building qualities it can provide.
