Two Overs Could Have Made Difference in Two Games: Kohli

After thumping Scotland, now India are hoping Afghanistan to beat New Zealand and win their final match of the group stage to make it to the semifinals. Kohli, after two convincing wins, believes that two good overs in previous games could not have India’s situation so tricky.

India chased down 86 runs to win the match against Scotland in 6.2 overs. Virat Kohli, after winning the match on his birthday said,
“It’s a dominating performance. It was something we were striving to again. I don’t want to say too much about today because we know how we can play.” He added,
“These little things in T20 cricket (toss, conditions) matter and we’re glad to be back in our mojo.”

He then opined, “We basically broke it down to the fact that we couldn’t get away at all in those two games, two overs could have made the difference. I’m just pleased everyone is getting into their own.”

Regarding the blistering performances from KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, Kohli said, “If you look at our practice games as well, the guys have been batting like that. Two overs of cricket like that and the momentum of the tournament could have been completely different.”
