This explosive batsman could replace KS Bharat for the final Test against Australia

The fourth Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy is just a day away. Having faced humiliation in the third game, India would be looking to bounce back stronger and win the game to fix their spot at the World Test Championship.

Sources close to Cricadium have revealed that ahead of the final Test match, India could give a chance to Ishan Kishan to make his debut. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, India gave a chance to Andhra keeper Srikar Bharat, who made his debut for the team in the first test match of the series.

Rishabh Pant got injured on the night of New Year’s eve. The Border Gavaskar trophy was India’s first test series without the services of the explosive wicket-keeper batsman. In his absence, Bharat had a perfect chance to shine and seal his spot in the team. However, Bharat has not quite been able to do that.

In the three games, Bharat has not been able to fire up to his potential, despite getting starts each time. Thus, the Indian team management might want to replace him with someone who could take the attack to the Aussie spinners, just like Pant used to do. Ishan Kishan fits the Indian team’s search criteria perfectly.

Kishan has pretty impressive stats in the domestic test circuit. The left-hander plays for Jharkhand in the domestic circuit and has constantly performed for them. In 48 first-class appearances, Ishan has 2985 runs at an average of almost 39.

Ishan has already proven the kind of talent he possesses when he scored that double-century against Bangladesh in December last year. If he is added to the Indian squad for the final test, it would give India a chance to put the Australian spinners under pressure as Ishan likes to play aggressive cricket.
