Surprised Virat Kohli Raises Question on RCB’s Social Media Action

It looks like RCB is busy in a different kind of promotion. After the removal of their logo and picture from social media accounts, players and franchises have started to post about the same. The latest in the list is Virat Kohli, the skipper.

What’s the deal with RCB?

We all are aware of Royal Challengers Bangalores’ disappointing performances since the inception of the Indian Premier League. Now just ahead of the 13th edition of the league, on February 12 the franchises removed their logo and pictures from all their social media accounts. No wonder this created a lot of buzz and if reports to believe the franchise is planning to come up in a revamped outlook. They in all likelihood are going to sport a new logo and might replace the Bangalore with Bengaluru.

This entire episode attracted a different kind of reactions from Royal Challengers’ own players and other franchises too. Yuzvendra Chahal and AB de Villiers were first to comment on the same. Chahal wrote, “Arey @rcbtweets, what googly is this? Where did your profile pic and Instagram posts go?” Then de Villiers joined the scene and wondered, “Folks at @rcbtweets, what’s happened to our social media accounts?  hope it’s just a strategy break.” Mike Hesson later asked, “Hey @RCBTweets are you all ok…..am starting to get a bit worried what happened to our profile pictures???#RCB #rcb”
Meanwhile, other franchises joined the fun too. Delhi Capitals who had a brand makeover last season asked if RCB needed any help. “In case you’re rebranding, do let us know if you need any help, @RCBTweets! We know a thing or two”

The captain joins

Finally, the captain could not resist commenting as well. Virat Kohli was apparently surprised to see the activities as he was not informed about this beforehand. Virat Kohli wrote, “Posts disappear and the captain isn’t informed. @rcbtweets, let me know if you need any help.”
These activities came just a day after signing Muthoot Fincorp as RCB’s title sponsor for this edition of the league. They signed a partnership of three years with Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, a part of the Muthoot Pappachan Group.
