An interesting thing was seen ahead of the opening match of the TATA IPL 2023. Steve Smith, who is going to commentate in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is not still in India. However, his 3-D visual is displayed in the Studio of Star Sports. The hologram of Smith is displayed besides Tom Moody.
The visual is too real to be not felt true. Netizens on Twitter found it amazing and many interesting comments were seen on Twitter. The technology keeps evolving and never fails to amaze us.
The tournament’s return was announced by Smith, 33, on Twitter on Monday. In a teaser video, he said: “Namaste, India. I’ve got some exciting news for you: I’m joining IPL 2023.”
“Steve Smith has joined the expert panel for the marquee tournament. Smith will be making his broadcast debut with Star Sports, adding his invaluable insights and expertise to Star Sports’ already impressive roster of panelists,” the broadcaster said in a statement.
The opening match of the Indian Premier League 2023 season 16 will take place on Friday, March 31 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT). The match promises to be tantalising as Gujarat looks to start their championship defence on a high while Chennai wants to start strong this season after losing in the group stages in 2022.
Given that this is MS Dhoni’s final season playing in the IPL, CSK will be motivated to send the second-most successful skipper in league history out on a victorious note (in terms of trophies won). Gujarat, on the other hand, would be under extra pressure to repeat their outstanding performance this year after making a strong statement with their magnificent performance in the inaugural season. Rashmika Mandanna, Tamanna Bhatia, and Arijit Singh are set to shine in an opening ceremony to delight the fans before the cricket action.
