Stephen Fleming pens down ‘thank you’ message for the CSK fans ahead of the IPL 2023 Final

When the Chennai Super Kings take on the reigning champion Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Sunday night, they will be vying for a record-tying fifth Indian Premier League championship. The CSK will be aiming for a repeat after defeating the same opposition in the first qualifier to get to the final.

MS Dhoni‘s team last won the championship in 2021. Before the anticipated match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming sent out a touching tweet of appreciation to the team’s loyal supporters, who showed up in force wherever the Super Kings played this season.

Fleming on his Twitter Account

“Not long now until the final game so a perfect time to say ‘thank you’ for all the support that the team has received this year. We all understand the love for the captain but to see the grounds so full of yellow has been truely amazing. enjoy tonight, it should be a cracker,” Fleming wrote on his official Twitter account.

CSK supporters packed the stadiums for their team’s matches around the nation as rumours about MS Dhoni’s future in the IPL abounded. Dhoni hasn’t made up his mind about playing in the IPL, but he’s adamant that he still has time to consider it.

Dhoni had stated following Chennai’s qualifying victory over the champion Gujarat Titans on Tuesday:

“I don’t know, I have eight to nine months to decide, the small auction may be around December, so why take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide.”

The former captain of India, who guided the team to two World Cup victories, has struggled with knee problems this year and wore a brace throughout the Titans game.

“Frankly, it takes a heavy toll. I have been out of home for literally four months… It takes a lot, but I have ample time to decide,” MS concluded.
