Star South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is back in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League and will look to stamp his authority in the marquee tournament. Kagiso Rabada, who had completed his international cricket obligations, joined the Punjab Kings (PBKS) team on Friday (April 7).
Due to their commitments to the Netherlands ODI series, which finished on April 2, several South African players arrived in India after schedule conflicts. While Rabada took a little pause before joining the PBKS team, Aiden Markram and a few other players quickly left for India.
In his absence, the pace bowling duties have been expertly handled by the combination of Sam Curran, Arshdeep Singh, and Nathan Eliis, as Punjab Kings have won both of their games thus far.
Punjab Kings recently shared a photo on their official Twitter account to alert their followers on Kagiso Rabda’s arrival in India. The post’s caption read:
Rabada was one of the best bowlers in the IPL 2022, taking 23 wickets in 13 games to place third in the race for the Purple Cap. In the following games, it will be intriguing to see who will replace him in the current PBKS starting XI.
Kagiso Rabada is crucial for Punjab’s chances in the tournament. The fast bowler takes wickets a brisk pace and often troubles the batters with his pace and swing. Rabada when on song is the most difficult bowler to face in world cricket.
The bowling lineup of Punjab is inexperienced and thus Rabada needs to step up for the team. Sam Curran and him would form a lethal opening combination as well as a deadly death bowling duo. Punjab Kings have won 2 in 2 matches in this IPL. They will continue to build the momentum and fight for the elusive trophy. Under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan, the team is looking strong and calm.
