Captaincy Dilemma For DC

However, the franchise is yet to finalize the captain for the second half of this year’s IPL. The regular skipper of the Capitals Shreyas Iyer could not play the first leg due to injury. In his place, Rishabh Pant was made the captain of Delhi Capitals for the season. Now Iyer is almost match-fit and will be able to join the team. On the other hand, the side had a good run in the first half of the tournament which is why the franchise is now unable to take a call on the captain yet for the remaining part of IPL.

The official explained, “Shreyas Iyer is already in UAE with a fitness coach and the rest of the players from India, South Africa and England will join the team after their international assignments are over. The captain issue is still undecided, either it will be Pant or Iyer, the team management has not yet decided on this.”

The BCCI has shared a 46-page health advisory that gives details about all the protocols to be followed by everyone associated with the IPL. Mumbai Indians and CSK have already reached UAE meanwhile.
