Shikhar Dhawan Reveals His Favourite Batting Partner And More From Indian Cricket Team

Shikhar Dhawan was asked to name his most favourite Indian captain during a video interaction on Wednesday. He went on to pick Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni and also named a few more questions on Indian national cricket team.

Dhoni or Kohli? Dhawan answers

On Wednesday Dhawan picked Dhoni as his most favourite captain whereas the most favourite batting partner award was given to Rohit Sharma, Dhawan’s opening partner in the team. During a rapid-fire round with former Indian national cricket team bowler, Irfan Pathan on an Instagram Live session Dhawan said,”(Best batting partner will be) Rohit Sharma… I have only played under Virat and Dhoni, so, as of now, Dhoni bhai.” Dhawan went on to praise Sharma more specifically for his enormous efforts shown in the last ICC World Cup in England where Sharma had scored five ODI centuries.”Rohit did brilliantly in the World Cup as he scored five centuries.”

The left-hander did not forget his current skipper albeit. He opined, “Virat Kohli as the “best current Indian batsman”. Irfan Pathan asked Dhawan to mention about the toughest bowler he has ever faced. Dhawan recalled facing the Australian pacer Mitchell Starc in this regard.

Dhawan on IPL 2020

Dhawan who is known for his big hits is one of the mainstays of Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. Most obviously he was asked about the future of the 2020 edition of the league. In the wake of the COVID-19, the fate of the 13th edition of the league is presently uncertain. Initially, it was postponed from March 29 to April 15 and it got delayed until further notice.

Dhawan believes that the league should be organized and it would bring positivity. “Of course, IPL should take place because people will get positivity from it. Currently, there is only coronavirus news and fear because of it,” Dhawan said.
