Shakib Makes New Record, Surpasses Afridi

Shakib Al Hasan became the highest wicket-taker in the history of T20 World Cup during the match against Sri Lanka on Sunday. At present he has 40 wickets in the tournament.

The 34-year-old all-rounder from Bangladesh took the wickets of Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando in the match against Sri Lanka in Sharjah cricket stadium. He overcame Shahid Afridi from Pakistan with 39 wickets in the process. The list had names like Lasith Malinga and Saeed Ajmal who had 38 and 36 wickets respectively. Shakib Al Hasan who is considered one of the best all-rounders of current times, shone in the 50-over World Cup in 2019 as well.
