Royal Challengers Bangalore Camp Delayed Till Further Notice

After Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata now the Bangalore based IPL franchise cancelled its pre-tournament training camp for the time being. Royal Challengers Bangalore took to their social media account to inform about the same and also suggested others to follow this due to the pandemic worldwide.

RCB camp called off

Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders already called off their training camps amid the massive outbreak of the novel coronavirus globally. The increasing number of COVID-19 cases in India finally forced Royal Challengers Bangalore to do the same. Declaring the news on Twitter they wrote that the decision was taken to ensure safety and the camp would start at a later date. The camp was scheduled to begin on March 21 but was deferred until further notice as per the statement by the RCB.

“Keeping in mind the health and safety of everyone involved, the RCB Training Camp scheduled to start on the 21st of March has been deferred until further notice. We request everyone to follow the guidelines provided by the Health Ministry and stay safe.”

IPL deferred

This comes after the BCCI postponed the start of the Indian Premier League till April 15. The Indian cricket board and the IPL Governing Council decided to adhere to the Government protocols followed by the pandemic outbreak.

The visa restrictions on foreign passports imposed by the Indian Government till April 15 was also a reason behind the decision taken by Sourav Ganguly and his team. The policy clearly means that overseas players will not be able to join the league till April 15. Three states refused to host the IPL matches with the national capital being the latest one on Friday. No wonder the BCCI was almost forced to call off the league for the time being.

The franchises can now only hope for the situation to get better by April 15 which will also make all states welcome the 13th season of the league.
