“We knew bowlers had to take the lead, run scoring was difficult. All the bowlers did the job, particularly Arshdeep. (On Dube bowling) You want options and we should be able to use them as and when we can. Today, the pitch favoured the seamers so wanted to use him. (On qualifying) It is a big relief, playing cricket here wasn’t easy. We had to stick through till the end in all 3 games. Will take a lot of confidence from these wins.”

Speaking about Suryakumar Yadav’s batting, Rohit Sharma appreciated the player’s experience and skills. Yadav scored his 50th 50 of the T20 World Cup in today’s match and also took the team to victory, alongside batting partner Shivan Dube.

“He showed he has a different game to him, that’s what you expect from experienced players. Credit to the way he stuck through today to take the game deep and win it for us.” Rohit said.

Is USA the H1B India team?

The USA team on the other hand, has become popular after getting a victory against Pakistan and performing well in the tournament so far. USA had also won their first match of the tournament, against Canada on 2 June.

The team is also gaining recognition amongst the “meme” community, as a lot of the players come from India and have previously played cricket in India as well. Fans have also termed the USA team as the “India H1B team” in a joking manner.

On the Indian American cricketers, Rohit Sharma made his own statement, accepting that the team was familiar with a lot of the USA players, from their days back in India.

“Lot of these guys have played cricket together, very happy to see their progress. Saw them last year in MLC as well, they are all hard-working guys” Sharma stated.

India is at the first spot on the Group A points table, while USA is at the second spot, with 2 wins and 1 loss.

While India will now compete against Canada on June 15 in Florida, USA is set to face off against Ireland tomorrow in the same venue.
