He has now surpassed Sachin Tendulkar, who previously held the record with 120 half-centuries as an Indian opener. Rohit Sharma is now the leading player in this category.
In this match, Rohit Sharma reached a new milestone. After being dismissed in the previous game, he was just two runs short of Rahul Dravid’s record of 10,768 ODI runs. By scoring the first two runs in the second ODI, Rohit surpassed Dravid’s record.

They restricted Sri Lanka to 240 runs.
But the second innings was heartbreaking for India. While chasing the target of 241, they gave a promising start. The opening partnership between skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill lasted for 97 runs. Rohit Sharma played an innings of 64 runs. Gill added a valuable 35 runs. Virat Kohli was dismissed scoring only 14 runs.
