Rishabh Pant faced challenges in India’s intra-squad simulation match, getting bowled twice. Jaiswal and Gill excelled with promising performances.
India’s Intra-Squad Match Highlights
As India prepares for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, players took part in an intra-squad match simulation at the WACA Stadium in Perth.
The game served as a key preparation for the team’s batting lineup. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings, with Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant following.
Despite the presence of star players, none of the Indian batters managed to shine against India A’s bowling attack.
Rishabh Pant’s Struggles and Injury Concerns
Rishabh Pant faced significant challenges during the simulation. The wicketkeeper-batter was cleaned up twice, once by Nitish Kumar Reddy and again by Mukesh Kumar.

The 26-year-old was troubled by the barrage of short-pitched deliveries and struggled to find his rhythm.
Pant had earlier shown some promise, hitting a couple of boundaries before his unfortunate dismissals.
He was also dealing with a groin injury, which likely contributed to his lack of stamina.
Despite his struggles, Pant’s proactive approach was notable during the match.
Jaiswal and Gill Shine with Solid Performances
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill emerged as the top performers of the day. Jaiswal adopted an aggressive approach, playing some confident drives early on.
However, his innings was cut short when he edged a delivery to second slip.
Gill, on the other hand, seemed more at ease against the short-pitched deliveries and remained composed. He managed to score an unbeaten 42 runs.
Jaiswal finished with a well-crafted 52 not out, showing his ability to handle both pace and spin effectively.
Their performances will be crucial in India’s preparation for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
