Parthiv Patel called Rishabh Pant the x-factor of Delhi Capitals. Pant who was recently made captain of the Delhi based franchise can be better than MS Dhoni, Patel thinks.

Rishabh Pant was the preferred young keeper batsman when Indian cricket team was looking for a suitable replacement in place of MS Dhoni especially in the limited-overs cricket. However, he failed to impress all and utilize the opportunities well. KL Rahul was given the responsibility in the T20I with ODI duties at times as well. But Pant made a strong comeback in recent past. His form in last few months has been incredible and once again he is being termed as the perfect substitute for Dhoni across the formats.

Recently Pant became the new skipper of Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2021. Delhi Capitals replaced the injured regular captain of the side, Shreyas Iyer with the young Pant. In presence of some of the veterans in the squad the franchise chose to trust the youngster which is mostly welcomed by the fraternity.
Patel Trusts Pant
Former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel is not any exception. Parthiv Patel told on Star Sport show Game Plan, “I think Rishabh Pant. Because if he wasn’t in his best of form last season, this year the way he has batted for India, I think he carries a lot of confidence with him and that’s what you want when you are playing a T20 game. You don’t want any doubts in your mind and especially a player like Rishabh Pant.”
While speaking about being the replacement for Dhoni, Patel explained, “He was burdened with the comparison of MS Dhoni and he also tried to do that, but he himself is brilliant player. He doesn’t have to worry about being like MS Dhoni. He can be better than MS Dhoni or he can win matches on his own every given time. So, I think Rishabh Pant will be probably hold the key for Delhi Capitals.”
