“Reaching somewhere is one thing but to maintain that position is another thing.”- Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan recalled how comparisons with other teammates would be made him jealous and so he stopped doing such things. He in a recent interaction also told that being mentally strong is important in every field.
Dhawan calls Sushant’s demise a tragic moment

On Wednesday Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan expressed his thoughts on the sudden demise of leading Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Dhawan called it a tragic moment and recalled how in every field one has to be mentally strong. “Absolutely, first of all, its was a very tragic moment, what happened. You don’t know what the person is going through at that time. At the same time it is very important in any sort of league you are in whether its Bollywood, cricket, or business world you have to be mentally strong, that’s what sets you apart.” He added, “Reaching somewhere is one thing but to maintain that position is another thing.”

In the conversation with India Today, he further explained, “You can have the best physique but if you don’t have strength in your mind you will struggle. Life is a very beautiful journey, we have to learn the art the way you get an education in school similarly in life you have to learn the art to live.”

Dhawan recalls own journey

He shared his own journey and remembered how he used to compete with his own teammates which eventually did not give him any positivity. “I used to compete with my teammates, with other openers. So I started comparing myself with them and the end result was that I started feeling jealous. I wanted them to do well but I wanted to better than them. Ultimately I took a step back and realized that I have achieved all my dreams.”

He added that it was also affecting his real happiness as he was always in a race. So he stopped doing it which was important for inner peace. “External circumstances don’t affect my inner peace. The way you practice your skills, you have to practice your mindset as well. I make sure I think positively, I live in gratitude and abundance and I enjoy that. I love learning this mindset and spreading the same.”
