Rashid Khan Would Already be on a Hat-Trick in the Next Game, Here’s How

The next match of Sunrisers Hyderabad will be an exciting venture for Rashid Khan. The Afghanistan star will start the next SRH match of IPL 2020 ‘on a hattrick’.

Here’s How

Sunrisers Hyderabad openers were devastating today in the 22nd match of the Indian Premier League against Kings XI Punjab. Jonny Bairstow and David Warner had a run-fest and they added 160 runs together for the first wicket. Bairstow scored a huge 97 off 55 balls whereas the skipper added 52 off 40 deliveries. Eventually, the Hyderbad team ended up with 201/6 on board. It was clear. Kings XI Punjab had at least two big scores from the top order to chase down such a mammoth number successfully. However, there was no sign of that. Instead, the KXIP batters started losing the wickets from the beginning. There was a collapse at the top order and wickets fell frequently. Nicholas Pooran did his bit with 77 off 37 balls. But one good knock was never enough to lead the chase, that too against the bowling attack led by Rashid Khan.

At the score of 126, Kings XI Punjab lost three wickets. In a bizarre incident, amid much confusion, Mujeeb Ur Rahman was dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed (2/24). The next over saw Rashid Khan picking up two back-to-back wickets to send Nicholas Pooran and Mohammed Shami back to the pavilion. Rashid Khan bagged those couple of wickets in the last two balls of the 15th over. Incidentally, it was his last over of the day from the four-over quota. This means Rashid Khan will have a chance of recording a hattrick to his name in the next match of Sunrisers Hyderabad. In case, he manages to scalp one in the upcoming next against Rajasthan Royals on October 11, it will be the first hattrick of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Rashid Khan ended today’s match with three wickets in four overs including a maiden, conceding 12 runs. In the next match, Rashid Khan will have the opportunity to record the 20th hattrick in the history of the Indian Premier League.
