Dravid still shaping future

The Indian team are ready to take on the visitors on Sunday and currently, they are leading the series by 1-0. A win in Bangalore and the three-match series will be clinched by men in blue. Led by Virat Kohli the team was practising for the final match in Bangalore on Friday morning when the National Cricket Academy (NCA) head, Rahul Dravid joined the scene. The BCCI took to the Twitter and shared a photo of Dravid and Ravi Shastri with the caption, “When two greats of Indian Cricket meet.” He was also seen chatting with players and the captain, Virat Kohli.

Dravid had a huge role in shaping the future of Indian cricket as the head coach of India A and India U19 teams. It was under him that the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Krunal Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar came into highlights. The former Indian captain is now serving as the head of cricket at NCA from July 2019 to develop Indian cricket from grassroots.

The team focus

After the abandoned match at Dharamshala, Kohli’s men won the second match of the ongoing series against the Proteas with utmost domination. Deepak Chahar took two wickets and Virat Kohli led the team to glory with an unbeaten 72 off 52. In the course, he went on to surpass Rohit Sharma to become the highest T20I run-scorer. Since the focus in T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia, all T20 matches before that are part of planning. No wonder India will like to win the series and take one step ahead towards the preparation of the big event.
