Purple Cap Holder of IPL 2023: Updated After LSG vs SRH Match 10

Today’s game between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad was a rather slow one as compared to the other games in the league so far. The same was reflected in the Purple Cap list as well. The list saw only one shuffle today, and that too was a recalibration of positions.

A day of spin

The Ekana stadium turned out to be a paradise for spinners tonight. LSG’s spinners Krunal Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, and Amit Mishra as well as SRH’s lead spinner Adil Rashid all had a good outing with the ball as they added wickets to their column.

Krunal Pandya was the star of the show with three wickets. He picked up the wickets of both of SRH’s openers Anmolpreet Singh and Mayank Agarwal as well as Captain Aiden Markram to put SRH on the back foot right from the start. Even though he has not found a place in the top 10 list of the Purple Cap, he has presented a strong contention tonight and is now ranked in 13th place.

Amit Mishra, who was making an IPL comeback today was also good with the ball as he picked up two wickets. Ravi Bishnoi was economical with the ball as he finished his 4 overs with figures of 1 for 16. He has now moved up to the 2nd spot in the Purple Cap list.

Wood misses out on playing

An interesting update in today’s game was the absence of LSG’s star player Mark Wood. Wood had to miss out on the game due to the flu. Despite that, he has managed to retain his number-one spot in the Purple Cap list. The team management expects him to be back in the next game and lead LSG’s bowling unit.
