Purple Cap Holder of IPL 2020: Updated After RR vs CSK Match 4

Chennai Super Kings can be in peace with at least overseas members of them as of now. The Purple Cap table is proof of it. Sam Curran and Lungi Ngidi are having a healthy fight for the top place when it comes to the highest wicket-takers’ chart.

Although the spin duo did not work well for the CSK today, the rest of their bowlers were quite impressive. Sam Curran, after his prolific all-around performance against Mumbai Indians in the first fixture, once again proved to be a good bet for Chennai Super Kings. In their second match against Rajasthan Royals, Curran picked up the last three wickets of the opponents and two of them came in the same over. Curran already had one wicket to his kitty from the MI match and after today’s match now he has four wickets from two matches at an average of 15.25 and an economy of 7.62.

It was because of the impressive average and economy that Curran has gone ahead of Ngidi despite having the same number of wickets in the battle. Curran’s today’s bowling analysis 4-0-33-3 helped him claim the topmost position of the following table surpassing Lungi Ngidi. On the other hand, Ngidi who was doing pretty well for CSK till the 19th over of the innings was hit for 30 runs by Tom Curran and Jofra Archer in the last over.
