Pat Cummins identifies the big Indian wicket Australia needs to focus on

In the 3-match ODI series, Pat Cummins is eyeing one big wicket. He wants to keep that batter quiet which might help his side in winning the game. The batsman he is focusing on is none but Indian national cricket team skipper Virat Kohli.

Cummins eying Kohli

The Indian national cricket team is all set to face Australia on November 27 to begin the much-awaited ODI series. Virat Kohli, who would not be available for the whole longest format series, is expected to continue his good form in the white-ball cricket Down Under. Pat Cummins, the leading Australia fast bowler is keen to focus on Kohli’s big wickets to make things easier for his side. Cummins wants to make the most of the limited-overs matches in which he will get to bowl to the India captain.

“I think every side has that one or two batters and they are the big wickets. Most teams have their captain – Joe Root for England, Kane Williamson for New Zealand. You feel like if you get their wickets that goes a long way in winning the game,” Cummins told Fox Cricket. “He (Kohli) is always a big one. You commentators talk about him non-stop, so hopefully, we can keep him quiet.”

Cummins confident about Australia against India

While speaking about the upcoming two-month long face-offs with the Indian national cricket team, Cummins sounded confident. Apart from spending times in bubbles, Cummins is okay with the preparation the Australia cricket team has had in last few months. “It’s going to be huge. Obviously, we’re back here on home soil. Other than spending a lot of time in hotels and bubbles I feel like our preparation has actually been really good,” Cummins added.

He reminded, “We went over to the UK and had a good tour there. Most of the boys here have been playing 14 T20 matches in the last few weeks and the other guys coming in will be playing shrewd cricket. So, it feels like we are all firing up and got a lot of stuff behind us.”
