Orange Cap Holder of IPL 2020: Updated After RR vs MI Match 45

Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore could score 145 runs for the loss of six wickets which was successfully chased down by Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. Kohli scored 50 as AB de Villiers added 39 runs and Devdutt Padikkal scored 22. In reply, Ruturaj Gaikwad set the tone for CSK chase. The youngster finally rose to the occasion and scored unbeaten 65 off 51 balls with four fours and three sixes. Ambati Rayudu added 39 runs, Faf du Plessis scored 25 runs, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni remained not out with 19 runs.

The second match of Sunday evening saw the defending champions being defeated by Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets. In a high-scoring encounter, Mumbai Indians set a target of 196 for RR based on a fantastic 60* off 21 deliveries from Hardik Pandya. Surya Kumar Yadav scored 40 as Saurabh Tiwary and Ishan Kishan contributed with 34 and 37 respectively. After the early dismissal of Robin Uthappa, when the chase started looking difficult for the Royals, Ben Stokes proved his mettle. He scored an unbeaten 107 off just 60 balls with 14 fours and three maximums and Sanju Samson contributed with a fine unbeaten 54 off 31 balls.

Virat Kohli is placed at 3rd position followed by Faf du Plessis at 4th and Devdutt Padikkal at 9th. The Orange Cap table is led by Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul.
