Kolkata Knight Riders, even after struggling with the batting won today’s match against Rajasthan Royals. Shubman Gill once again showed his ability as the opener and eventually became the role representative of KKR in the Orange Caps table.
Kolkata Knight Riders, batting first once again lost Sunil Narine early. Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana tried to bring stability before both were dismissed in space of seven runs in 10th and 12th over. Gill meanwhile recorded the highest run for KKR with 47 runs off 34 balls. Rana’s 17-ball 22, Andre Russell’s 14-ball 24, Eoin Morgan’s 23-ball 34* helped KKR set the target. Gill is currently ranked at No. 6 followed by Morgan at No. 14.
Rajasthan Royal’s top order had a major collapse during the chase. But Sanju Samson and Steve Smith managed to remain in the top ten mainly based on their previous performances. Today Samson scored only eight whereas the RR skipper was gone for three.
