This Saturday saw the first double-header of this year’s IPL. The first match was between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore where the latter won by eight wickets. The Royals batted first and amid a mini-collapse, Mahipal Lomror came up with a 39-ball 47 to set a target of 155 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In reply, Virat Kohli eventually rose to the occasion and contributed with an unbeaten 72. Devdutt Padikkal scored his third IPL half-century of this season (63) and chased down the score for his side with the skipper. No wonder Padikkal is standing at 4th place. Sanju Samson from the Royals added just four and continued to remain in top ten.
The second match of the day saw Kolkata Knight Riders getting defeated by 18 runs to Delhi Capitals. In a high-scoring match, Delhi Capitals set a target of 229 runs. Shreyas Iyer was fantastic with an unbeaten 88 from just 38 balls. Prithvi Shaw scored 66 off 41 balls. In reply, KKR could manage two good scores from Nitish Rana (58) and Eoin Morgan (44) which were not enough. Iyer stands at seven followed by Shubman Gill at 8th who scored 28.
