Naveen-ul-Haq remains unfazed by outside noise, stays focused on his game

In the wake of the controversial incident involving LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, coach Gautam Gambhir, and former RCB skipper Virat Kohli during their match on May 1, the Afghan pacer has been making waves with his intriguing social media posts and comments. His recent activities have kept fans and fellow players on their toes, wondering about the hidden messages behind his cryptic messages.

Following RCB’s elimination from the tournament, Naveen took to Instagram once again and shared a mysterious Instagram story. In the story, a well-known African TV reporter can be heard saying, “God have mercy upon us,” followed by the reporter’s laughter. The enigmatic nature of the post has left fans puzzled and speculating about its meaning.

Naveen addresses the Kohli issue

Naveen had previously grabbed attention by posting pictures of mangoes between matches, earning him the nickname “mango man” from his West Indies teammate Nicholas Pooran. In a peculiar turn of events, after Mumbai Indians‘ convincing victory over Lucknow, MI players also shared a picture on social media, showing themselves enjoying mangoes. Fans immediately assumed that the post was directed at Naveen.

Addressing the media at a post-match conference, Naveen expressed his nonchalant attitude toward the outside noise and the attention drawn by the crowds. “I enjoy it. I like everyone in the ground chanting his (Virat Kohli) name or any other player’s name. It gives me a passion to play well for my team,” Naveen stated confidently.

Naveen’s friendship with Gambhir

The young pacer emphasized that he remains focused on his own cricketing journey and personal growth, disregarding external distractions. He acknowledged that fans have the right to express their opinions, both in moments of success and failure, as it is an inherent part of being a professional sportsperson.

When asked about his friendship with Gautam Gambhir and its impact on his development as a player during the IPL, Naveen stressed the importance of supporting and standing up for teammates. “Everyone should take back their own players. Mentor, coach, player, or anyone. I will stand for each teammate on the ground, and that’s what I expect from every individual as well,” Naveen responded.
