The Florida stadium has already been through 2 abandoned matches back to back, due to poor management and lacking infrastructure. It was when USA vs Ireland got canceled on Friday, 14 June that the 2009 champion, Pakistan team was declared officially out of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Srikkanth Criticises Babar’s “tuk tuk”

Former Indian hitter Krishnamachari Srikkanth believes that Pakistan captain Babar Azam should not play T20 cricket. While doubting the batter’s abilities in the format, Srikkanth stated that his strike rate is simply not good enough, despite being the leading run-getter in T20Is.

Babar-led Pakistan failed to qualify for the 2024 T20 World Cup after losing in the group stage to the United States and India. They lost to the United States in the Super Over and to India by six runs in a low-scoring match.In terms of the skipper’s individual performance, the batsman scored 44 off 43 against the United States, 13 off 10 against India, and a run-a-ball 33 against Canada.

“I don’t think Babar should play T20 cricket. I mean you can’t do this tuk-tuking all the time in T20 cricket. They say Babar scored 4,000 runs like Virat or Rohit, but his strike rate is only 112-115 what are you talking about?,” Srikkanth said on Star Sports

Pakistan clinches victory against Ireland

The Pakistan cricket team has regained some of the reputation they had gathered with a much needed win against Ireland. Pakistan won the match against Ireland, but very barely.

Ireland scored 106/9 and Pakistan chased the target, scoring 111/7. With the win Pakistan move to third place with four points in Group A and Ireland will remain at the bottom with no victories to their name.

Despite the result, both teams won’t qualify for the Super Eight stage. India with seven points and the United States with five points have progressed from group A.
