Kane Richardson Out Of Coronavirus Threat

Coronavirus test reports of Australian pacer Kane Richardson are out. Since the reports are negative, Richardson can reportedly join his squad in Sydney.

Richardson cleared of coronavirus

On Thursday Kane Richardson felt a mild sore throat and reported to the medical staff of Australian cricket team immediately. Although the medical team thought of it as a typical throat infection, they wanted to be sure and maintain the Australia Government protocols. So Richardson became the first cricketer to be tested for coronavirus. He was kept out of the first ODI against New Zealand in Sydney and Sean Abbott joined the team as Richardson’s cover.

Cricket Australia spokesperson shared the details through and official media release, “Our medical staff are treating this as a typical throat infection but we are following Australian Government protocols that require us to keep Kane away from other members of the squad and perform the appropriate tests given he has returned from international travel in the last 14 days.”

Richardson joins team

The release further stated, “Once we receive the results of the tests and Kane recovers in the next few days we expect he will re-join the team. We will not be making further comment until something changes.”

Kane Richardson missed the first match of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand at home. He kept waiting for the reports and was quarantined in his hotel room. Fortunately, his reports were clear and he soon left his room to re-join his team in Sydney.

Cricket.com.au wrote, “Kane Richardson has been cleared of contracting coronavirus after he returned a negative result to COVID-19 testing today.” The reportage further added, “He received the all-clear about 8pm AEDT and was released from his hotel room quarantine to travel to the SCG for the opening Gillette ODI against New Zealand.”

The series is being played without the crowd in the wake of the outbreak of coronavirus worldwide.
