Josh Hazlewood Suggests One Venue For India-Australia Series

Josh Hazlewood has a suggestion for the cricket boards. If the situation gets better and cricket gets back to the track, he suggests India and Australia to play the entire Border-Gavaskar Trophy at one venue, the Adelaide Oval.

Adelaide for series against India

Due to the pandemic, all possible big events had to be cancelled or postponed for an indefinite period. The situation is such that nobody can predict until when this lockdown phases will continue. Most of the affected countries have been sent to quarantine and closed their borders. Australia’s borders will be sealed until the end of September as of now. Post that even if the situation becomes normal, whether 15 days will be enough to organize the men’s T20 World Cup or not is a million-dollar question. ICC reportedly will take a call on the same in August after assessing the situation for another few months.

On the other hand, Cricket Australia has been going through a huge financial crisis. In such a scenario no wonder, the Australia cricket board will like to host India for the schedules T20I, ODI, and Test series. On the same note, Josh Hazlewood, the fast bowler of Australia suggested, “The bowlers and batters would probably be happy with that, it’s (Adelaide Oval) probably been the best cricket wicket the last four or five years.”

He also added, “It gives a bit to both batting and bowling, I wouldn’t mind it. It’s not ideal though. We want to get around to all parts of Australia and challenge ourselves on all those different wickets.”

Hazlewood eyeing comeback

Meanwhile, he is keeping his quarantine days busy with gaming and gardening apart from fitness activities. Currently, not part of the Australian side, Hazlewood had a plan to impress one and all with his IPL stint to get a call in the upcoming World Cup. Regarding the same, he said, “If we don’t play another game before the World Cup it’s going to be tough to get into.”

He mentioned that he would be love to take any kind of opportunity available to him.“If an opportunity opens up, through injury or whatever, I’d take that. The IPL was going to be a good opportunity for me in T20 cricket, to hopefully do well for Chennai and put my name forward for that World Cup.”
