I’m quite thrilled. I don’t know what to express: Jemimah’s father

Jemimah Rodrigues pleased her parents as she made her WPL debut in the second game. Her parents spoke on Sports18 about their excitement and how their hearts are overflowing wit passion and pride as their daughter prepares to start a new path. They also remembered the exact moments when Jemimah’s name was announced at the December auction.

I feel like every parent out there would like to be in our boots, right now. Just thankful to God for giving her this moment and you want to cherish it,” told Jemimah’s mother Lavita.

“I’m quite thrilled. I don’t know what to express. My tears might roll down my cheeks. We had gone to South Africa to see India’s matches, and we were seeing it live. During the auction day, Hotstar wasn’t there. So, I told my friends and brother-in-law down here to put it on zoom so we were tuned on our tab live,” Jemimah’s father, Ivan said.

“It was mixed feelings. If you remember, when the name was called out, for a few seconds, it was absolutely silent. When it started, I was like ‘oh, it’s happening, it’s happening’,” Jemimah’s mother added.
