Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand cricket team has apologized to Jofra Archer on behalf of the New Zealanders. He has also hoped that nothing like this happens ever in future.

What happened?

Jofra Archer made allegations of being racially abused by a fan during the first Test at Mount Maunganui against New Zealand. Archer mentioned about the same in his tweet where he said, “A bit disturbing hearing racial insults today whilst battling to help save my team, the crowd was been [sic] amazing this week except for that one guy, @TheBarmyArmy was good as usual also.”

The New Zealand Cricket already said that they would apologize to the pacer whereas the New Zealand board and the England Cricket Board decided to launch an investigation to identify the person making those comments.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson the Kiwi skipper who his famous for his gentleman-like attitude amongst the fans told stuff.co.nz that he wants to apologize to Archer for whatever happened. He said, “It’s certainly against everything that we as Kiwis are about, and I certainly hope that nothing like that ever happens again. I can only apologize on behalf of Kiwis to Jofra, not only from our team and how we look to conduct ourselves, but what we expect of Kiwis in general.”

Why Williamson mentioned that New Zealand cricket is certainly against all these, sounded shocked to know about the whole happenings. He opined, “Absolutely, 100 per cent [I was shocked],” Williamson said. “We were out there too and didn’t hear anything… obviously we were focusing on other things. It’s a horrific thing. In a country, and a setting where it is very much multi-cultural, it’s something we need to put to bed quickly and hope nothing like that ever happens again. It certainly won’t if there’s any influence we can have on it.”

The New Zealand skipper later expressed his desire to meet Jofra Archer personally to talk about this and apologize.
