IPL Stats: Total Number of Sixes Smashed in each IPL Season

Indian Premier League is known as the most entertaining T20 league in the world. The platform does not only provide an opportunity to legends and youngsters to showcase their skill in front of a crazy crowd, it never fails to entertain people. There is something for every cricket lover. The league has changed the dimension of T20 since its inception. Since 2008, in its 12 years of the journey, a total of 8,103 maximums have been hit by the T20 superstars. In the 2018 edition of the league, the most have been smashed among which Rishabh Pant scored 37 sixes for Delhi Daredevils. The lowest number of maximums was recorded in the second edition of the league and Adam Gilchrist hit 22 sixes, the most of the season. The IPL 2009 was the first IPL that was played outside India. The upcoming one will be the second time that the league will be fully hosted outside the country, in the UAE. Earlier a few matches during IPL 2014 were played in the same country due to elections. Will history repeat itself? Will we see lesser numbers of sixes this time or a lot more than before? With the postponement of the T20I World Cup, the big hitters will like to have a good show in IPL. On the other hand, after a forced break of the pandemic, the batters will like to play big knocks as the league gets unfolded. This IPL is going to break broadcasting records according to experts. We hope that this edition breaks the all-time sixes record as well!
