The second match of the day will see Delhi Capitals taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad. Two captains are vital parts for their respective sides.
Rishabh Pant is going through an outstanding phase in his career and just before the IPL 2021 he also got the opportunity to lead his franchise Delhi Capitals for the entire season due to the shoulder injury of Shreyas Iyer. Despite having quite a few senior players in the team including as many as four ex-IPL captains, Pant has created his own captaincy style and showing lots of maturity after his first four matches, three of which he has won. As a batsman Pant has also taken one of the most important roles for his team as he is playing as a floater in the line-up. In case of collapse at the top like the one occurred against the Royals, he is playing the anchor’s role and looked to bat long and even got a fifty. In the other matches when his team got a good start, he looked to play more shots as a finisher.
The captain of Sunrisers David Warner remains their most important player despite the inclusion of other superstars like Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan. He is just 46 runs away from reaching 10,000 runs in all T20’s and would love to achieve this today and also reach his 50th half-century in this league. Warner has already scored a fifty in this year’s IPL and made two handy contributions in last two matches which included SRH’s first win of the season. With Bairstow looking to accelerate from the first ball Warner now gets the opportunity to play a support role at the beginning and set himself in. But on his day, the Australian Southpaw can be extremely dangerous as shown by his four IPL hundreds. Warner also plays a key role as captain specially managing his young Indian fast bowlers is something which he manages efficiently. He will miss Natarajan for rest of the season but will look to manage whoever is available in the squad effectively.
